Our latest DIY adventure... Homebrew!

After participating in a few different brewery tours around town, the Curious Souls wondered "how difficult can this brewing thing really be?"

Today, with a few beers (for inspiration), a few friends, and an extract kit, we decided to try it out for ourselves. Enter (stage left) End of the World Brewing...

Easy, right? Just like making stew... or tea... or stewing tea... or something...

And now, we wait (quite impatiently) for the little S. cervisiae to do their job.

    Tim makes his own beer and he loves it. It takes awhile but I think it is worth the wait. Hope you guys are doing well, miss you.

    I miss you, too! I remember from our last visit that Tim's home brew was quite good! I am really looking forward to enjoying the fruits of Jon's new hobby. :)

I spy...

I was looking for directions on Google Maps today when I realized that Google had just added "birds-eye" views for Fort Collins. So, of course, I went to see what our home looks like. Much to my surprise, I found that Google just happened to catch us on the morning of March 29, 2012. Our moving day! So, you better think twice before deciding to run around naked in your back yard. You never know when the aerial photography plane is going to fly by!

Beauty Anxiety

I am spending quite a bit of time thinking and planning what I am going to put in my travel backpack. There isn't going to be a lot of room so I am taking a tip from Ottsworld and planning to leave my vanity behind . I have to admit, the idea of leaving my makeup behind makes me uncomfortable. Not because I want to wear makeup everyday but because it's a security blanket. It provides the ability to fit in if I need to and to escape the feeling that I am not participating in the unwritten rules of being a woman. Please note that parts of this site are NSFW. But on the flip side, I'll be saving money. I found an article in Newsweek that estimated the lifetime cost of "cosmetic maintenance" . Even if I normally spend a half to a third of this amount, that's still quite a bit quite a bit of money.
